From snowy mountain passes through urban streets to summer excursions to the beach at some point we all need to stop and do Number 2. But do you want to step out of your plush, sanitary luxury sedan and into a filthy roadside restroom full of graffiti and glory holes?
That is why today Audi announced plans to offer a never-before-seen luxury vehicle option to their full line of vehicles – the Self-Cleaning Bottom (Selbstreinigung Hintern).
“Today, buyers in the luxury automobile market have the highest expectations. The driverless car has helped Audi to better understand demands of our buyers” says Jahn VonBondorsnechtinchise, Professor of Customer Needs at Audi’s American headquarters.
“More and more of our customers are opting for services that limit or remove their need to exert effort or to think. This year alone self-parking was the second most popular option.” Double-Advanced Premium Extra-Bright LED Lighting continues to be the most popular customer option.
VonBondorsnechtinchise said that because driverless customers see tremendous value in having almost everything done for them, SCB will be standard equipment in all of Audi’s driverless cars. Reading the newspaper just took a turn for the better.
In this video Audi product specialists demonstrate exactly how SCB works. Members of the media are invited to test this new technology while at CES. SCB will also be on hand at the North American International Auto Show.

Audi engineers say the revolutionary technology removes 98% of waste on the first pass and provides an unmatched soothing sensation. Müller HoffmanShultzKoch, Lead Comfort Engineer on the program said, “The secret to the refreshing sensation is a combination of precision applied-pressure and the use of a proprietary post-relief liquid gel.”
SCB uses hundreds of data points such as driver weight, age, buttock size and scent to execute near-perfect manuevers with each pass. For those wanting more control, the system is fully adjustable with options ranging from Comfort to Sport.
The system was developed after years of extensive research, including months observing the outdoor behavior of various dogs. “Dogs are very efficient and effective self-cleaners” said HoffmanShultzKoch.
SBC uses over 200 microprocessors and advanced sensors, making it one of the most advanced systems ever engineered by Audi.
Audi is constantly redefining luxury with ground-breaking technologies such as SBC. This and many other technologies continue to provide customers with an unsurpassed luxury vehicle experience.
