It makes perfect sense to all loyal readers of the D. C. Auto Geek blog that a shuttle from Salt Lake City to Park City would make no stop in our fair city of Washington, D. C. Why would it? Washington, D. C. is in no way located on any reasonable route one would take from Salt Lake City to Park City. Washington, D. C. is no located within the territorial boundaries of the state of Utah, within which both Salt Lake City and Park City happen to be located. Nor is there some other logical reason that any shuttle traveling between these two cities in Utah would need to stop in our nation’s capital.
PARK CITY TRANSPORTATION MAKES NO STOPS IN WASHINGTON, D. C.
Nor would transportation operating exclusively within the city limits of Park City, Utah make any stops within the city limits of Washington, D. C. How could it possibly do this? Because the city limits of Park City, Utah and Washington, D. C. are mutually exclusive there literally and physically is no possible way this could be accomplished without some miraculous or magical intervention of some sort. Now, we here at the D. C. Auto Geek Blog naturally do not take a position on religious issues but we have a pretty firm stand against the practice of magic and the occult. As such we cannot hold that either a miraculous or magical intervention is a possible let alone probable occurrence.
Accordingly there really is no way for it to happen nor is there a reason for it to happen. That much can be said to have been firmly established both in paragraph one and also in paragraph two of this discrete blog post. The question naturally arises as to why we took the time to write a blog post on this subject in the first place. Why indeed?
There is a connection between any Park City taxi and the city of Washington D. C. This connection is obvious and straight forward but it is difficult to explain to a person who has not experienced it directly. It is difficult to explain because the connection is an experiential process and explaining an experience using language is not the same thing as experiencing the thing itself. Sometimes language is the best a person can do to attempt to transfer the information that he or she wishes to transfer. One must come to accept the fact that not 100% of the information will be effectively transferred.
EXPLAINING THE PARK CITY TAXI CONNECTION
So what exactly is this connection? Whether or not it must be experienced in order to fully understand it we still must do our level best to explain it. Whether or not language can full transfer the understanding of the experience we must do our level best to explain it with the tools that we have at our disposal. Just because some small percentage of understanding has been transferred does not mean that the effort should not be made. Quite the contrary, the effort should absolutely be made because if it has not been made then we shall never progress past square one.
So let us then proceed past square one. Let us attempt to explain the connection using the tool of language that we have and if not all the information has been properly transferred so be it. We shall just have to accept the fact that we live in a world where not everybody fully understands each other. True, this may cause problems but problems are there to be solved. If we do not take the chance in the communication process then it can not be said that we have fully lived our life.
All of Washington D. C. is abuzz regarding the impending visit to our nation’s capital of a parade of affordable golf carts Florida arriving straight from the city of Port Charlotte. This parade of golf carts have driven all the way up the east coast of the U. S. A. starting in Florida, crossing into Georgia, then through South Carolina, then through North Carolina, then into Virginia and finally into Washington D. C. Once in the city limits of Washington D. C. the golf carts will head over to the national mall and take a tour of all the great monuments and museums situated in that physical locality.
AFFORDABLE GOLF CARTS FLORIDA FROM PORT CHARLOTTE WILL SOON ARRIVE IN WASHINGTON D. C.
The entire D. C. Auto Geek family and readership base shall be in attendance at the national mall in order to greet this fantastic parade. In fact, this amazing cavalcade will be driving all over the city of Washington D. C. through all four quadrants including South East, South West, North East and North West. This parade might have a problematic effect on the traffic within the city limits of Washington D. C. but sometimes it becomes necessary to throw caution to the wide in order to fully ingest the marrow from the bone of life.
Of course the crown jewel of Washington D. C. is the national mall itself. There the many monuments, museums and government buildings are all on prominent display. The monuments include, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Memorial for World War I I, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and many others. The museums include all the Smithsonian Museums including the Air and Space Museum, the Native American Museum, the African American Museum and many others.
The latest craze in our nation’s capital is for people to drive an automobile around the national mall with a drum pump built into the car itself. Citizens and resident aliens alike are getting in on this cultural phenomenon. The reason as to why this particular craze has taken a hold of the national zeitgeist is a little difficult to pin down. That is, if one were to put his or her finger on the pulse of the population he or she would in fact feel the pulse but he or she might not fully understand what is the cause of that pulse in the first place.
PUTTING A FINGER ON THE PULSE OF THE AUTO DRUM PUMP CRAZE
This is not the first quirky craze to sweep the Washington, D. C. metro area. It is no wonder that this state of affairs happens to be the case. For one thing the Washington, D. C. metro area is a melting pot of different cultures from around the world. Never has such a plethora of Ethiopian restaurants existed sided by side with Vietnamese Pho joints next to standard American fare. Along with this mixture of ethnicities comes a mixing of cultural norms and ideas. This must be the genesis of what we like to call the quirky craze potential inherent in the D. C. metro area.
Once one has a proper appreciation of the quirky craze potential inherent in the D. C. metro area the picture of the situation begins to take its proper form. Just what this proper form turns out to be will naturally differ from person to person and time to time. This is no matter. In fact we here at the D. C. Auto Geek blog revel in the diversity. It is the very essence that make living in D. C. exciting.
Just because I am a D. C. Auto Geek does not mean that I cannot take a ride in a Park City taxi from time to time. Indeed, although the city of Washington, D. C. is my home base (so to speak) I do frequently travel around this country of which my city of origin is the capital. You might say that it is through my many varied travels that my love for the city of Washington, D. C. is both strengthened and honed. This is not to say that the rest of the country is inferior to Washington, D. C. but rather that I have a special affinity towards Washington, D. C. and when I am absent from this city my heart grows fonder as it were.
MY EXPERIENCE RIDING IN A PARK CITY TAXI
You might wonder how a D. C. Auto Geek ended up being in Park City Utah. Actually, it is not that difficult to figure out. Park City, Utah happens to be a posh destination and as such, people from all over the country and the world for that matter are drawn to it in order to enjoy its many varied attractions.
Once one arrives in Park City the question as to how to get around it becomes an issue. This of course, is no matter because there are many options available. As an self described Auto Geek I am partial to transporting myself in an automobile. There are actually only a very limited number of other transportation options that do not involve automobiles. Certainly one can walk around the city and this is actually a great way to do it because it is healthy and carbon footprint neutral. However, if you are like me and prefer to travel by automobile then there really is no better option than to make use of a taxi.
There is a small segment of the Auto Geek community in Washington, D. C. that drive affordable carts Florida all the way from Port Charlotte. Many of the regular car driving Auto Geeks look down upon the golf cart drivers. The logic behind this condescension is that larger, regular cars are more powerful and the golf carts are small and wimpy by comparison. Some golf cart drivers do not accept this lower status, however, and there is a growing protest movement calling themselves the Port Charlotters. Their argument is not without merit. Washington, D. C. is the capital of the leader of the free world. And equality goes hand in hand with freedom according to the liberal credo.

Who can say whether one day golf carts will be considered on par with regular, full sized cars. When we speak of equality we generally are referring to equality before the law. In other words if a golf cart and a regular car had a dispute which was settled in a court of law the law would treat the golf cart and the regular car equally in terms of the application of the law.
Of course we know by many objective qualitative standards a golf cart and a regular car are not equal. For one thing, a car is larger than a golf cart. In this very straight forward measurement we can see that the two vehicles are not equally large. However, equality before (or under) law is not the same thing as physical equality. Many people do not understand this distinction. And many people will choose to remain willfully ignorant of this distinction. The law, however, cannot afford to be biased in this manner and the entire legal system has been structured to weed out this type of bias.
I might be making a rather geeky distinction here but when a person argues that it is impossible to take Park City transportation in and around Washington, D. C. they are incorrect on their face. What do I mean by this? True, one may not take transportation “in” Park City in Washington, D. C. That would be impossible. However, one can take transportation which originates from Park City around Washington, D. C. Do you see the distinction I am making here? In other words, transportation is labeled “Park City” because it originates from that location and not because it is physically located there at this moment in time.
WHERE TO FIND PARK CITY TRANSPORTATION IN WASHINGTON, D. C.
Now it might be difficult (but in no way impossible) to locate this type of transportation within the city limits of our nation’s capital. One simply needs to know where to look. Now that is an easy assertion for me to make (I understand) but when teaching people subtle lessons such as the one I am attempting to impart upon you (gentle reader) at this moment we must start with the easy and work our way methodically towards the ever more complex.
Finding this type of transportation might involve befriending a person who is from Park City. It matters not whether they permanently moved from Park City to Washington, D. C. or are simply visiting and taking in the majestic sights. What matters is that they originated from Park City and are now physically located in Washington, D. C. After meeting this person, the next step is to determine whether they are in possession of transportation. Now just what exactly constitutes a form of transportation is beyond the scope of this blog post. But when it has been determined that the individual in question is in possession of a form of transportation you have now reached the threshold of the topic of this blog post.
One of my favorite autos to geek out about is a golf cart Florida that I sometimes use to drive around Washington, D. C. To clarify, the name of the golf cart is Florida and I procured her from the Port Charlotte area of Florida which is why I christened her with the name Florida. My loyal readers might not be aware of the fact that I name all my autos. If that makes me a geek then so be it. What do I care what you people think of me anyway? I write this blog for my own purposes and not to entertain you people.
Driving My Golf Cart Florida
Sometimes I drive my golf cart from Port Charlotte down to the Washington Mall. Because it is a golf cart I can drive on the side walks and in and around all of the magnificent monuments. I start on Capitol hill near the Capitol building. I then head down Independence Avenue past the Native American museum, the Air and Space museum and the old Smithsonian building. Sometimes I stop and take in a congressional staffer softball game if I happen to be driving my golf cart during softball season.
After the softball game I climb back into Florida and continue on towards the Washington Monument. Once there I drive a couple of laps around the giant white obelisk. I look to the side to see the White House as I circumnavigate and then I slingshot myself in the direction of the Lincoln Memorial. On the way I pass the World War II Memorial and the Korean War Memorial before reaching the Lincoln Memorial. Then I drive up the other side past the Vietnam Memorial, the White House, the National Archives, the National Museum of Art and the other Smithsonian Museums on that side of the National Mall that presently slip my mind.
Many of the people living in Washington, D. C. are learning about the many benefits of stashing a drum heater in the trunk of their car. People are interested in doing this because transporting chemicals within industrial drums sitting in the trunks of their cars is not as infrequent an event as you might think in our nation’s capital. This is true because times are tough and one of the best ways to earn some extra cash on the side is in the transportation of chemicals from one end of town to the other. In fact there is an Uber type app designed just for this purpose!
EARNING EXTRA CASH WITH A TRUNK DRUM HEATER
Now getting the job transporting chemicals from one end of Washington, D. C. to the other is actually the easy part. The more difficult aspect of this job is in keeping the chemicals at their proper temperature. This is where the heater of the drum in the trunk comes into play. Many industrial chemicals need to be kept at a specific temperature in order to prevent their spoilage or loss of potency. This is why a heater is required in certain specific instances and specific chemicals.
Washington, D. C. is a city that experiences a wide range of temperatures throughout the year. Although sitting below the Mason Dixon line, Washington, D. C. can get very cold in the winter. By contrast, Washington, D. C. can also experience some of the most swelteringly, sickeningly hot summers you would ever not care to experience. It is for this reason that special care must be taken to make sure that the chemicals you are transporting in the trunk of your car be kept at an even temperature. You are in the business of earning extra cash and the people receiving the chemicals will not want to pay you that cash if the chemicals spoiled en route.
The D. C. Auto Geek blog editorial board would like to discuss the use of vehicle wraps to advertise your business on a car or truck. When a person uses this technology to advertise they are essentially transforming their vehicle into a mobile billboard. The advantages to this type of advertising are legion. First of all the owner of the vehicle can transport his advertising to the location where he anticipates his potential audience to be. Second of all, the owner of the vehicle can take advantage of multiple locations on a single day or over an extended period of time.
VEHICLE WRAPS TAKE YOUR MESSAGE TO MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
The power of advertising is simple yet nuanced at the same time. Advertising is simple from a conceptual standpoint in that it is (typically) a visual display that is designed to influence a specific audience to perform some act such as purchase a product or service. In order for advertising to be effective it must contain an effective message and it must be positioned in a location where its intended audience is likely to see it and then to act upon its message. An effective message is one that is displayed in such a way that it catches its intended audience’s attention and is persuasive to that intended audience.
When a vehicle owner uses a wrap on his or her vehicle to advertise a particular message he or she is in a position to effectively convey his or her message. This does not necessarily be for the purpose of convincing a potential audience to purchase a product or service. This can be used (for example) to disseminate useful information. There are many situations such as a public service announcement where this might be a desirable outcome for any owner of a vehicle employing an advertising wrap.
